Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) LET'S TALK ABOUT STEM & STEAM
According to the 2014 NC STEM Report Card, over a quarter million jobs will be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related, including a projected need of approximately 110,000 jobs in computer and mathematical sciences, 17,000 architects and technicians, 50,000 engineers and technicians, and 36,000 life and physical scientist. The term STEAM includes the arts which expand the learning process to children with various interests and skills. Click on our media page to see how art + STEM = Great.
STEM EXPERIENCE: Our staff has taught Earth Science, Biology, fitness, anatomy, and technology around North Carolina and the Midwest. Our program director, Margo Dawson was awarded computers from Lenovo in 2006 to increase technology education around North Carolina. NASA Educational Specialist have partnered with us for two years with teacher training and resources to expand STEM education. The STEM Center for Education at East Carolina University collaborates to share innovative STEM resources to Lenoir County and guidance.
